About Courtney

I love helping people who are tired of existing in their current family or personal patterns and who are ready to make a change. I’m also passionate about working with people who have experienced sexual trauma, relational trauma, or childhood trauma, and it brings me great joy to see my clients grow, heal and recapture hope in their lives. Additionally, I have a passion for working with clients who have experienced pregnancy loss, infant loss, infertility or traumatic birth experiences.

My job as a counselor is to hold space for my clients to process what they’re going through, to help untangle the complicated mess of feelings that can be so overwhelming, and to hold on to hope in the darkness when it’s too hard for you to do that on your own.

Personally, I’m a Nashville native but I love going on adventures and exploring new places. I’m married, with three school-age children. When I have free time I like to hike at Radnor Lake, practice yoga, drink lots of coffee and read lots of books (hopefully those last two at the same time). Prior to becoming a therapist I worked as a freelance writer, and still enjoy writing for fun. I’ve always been a creative person and I think everyone is creative in their own way, but I feel a deep connection with people who identify as creative, or who work in a creative field.

I received my Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University and am licensed to practice in the state of Tennessee (license number 1683).

I think the body and mind are inextricably connected, and I like to integrate body-oriented therapies into sessions when appropriate, and if my clients are open to them. I’m a Level I Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained therapist, as well as being trained in Trauma Sensitive Yoga. I’m also well versed in the Enneagram, and find it to be a helpful tool in self discovery and relationships.
